Caring for your child's hair isn't always instinctive, particularly if their hair is different from your own.
How often should it be cleansed? What does it need? Which products should you use? How do you detangle it comfortably?
Children's Curl Care is for parents, guardians and caregivers who want to understand their child's curly or textured hair and feel confident caring for it at home.

We'll look at your child's individual hair, what you're currently doing at home and any challenges you're experiencing.
I'll explain the science, reasoning and logic behind their hair's behaviour, helping you understand what it needs and why.
The goal is for you to understand your child's hair and feel confident caring for it, while creating positive experiences that can help shape their own relationship with their hair as they grow.

During our consultation, we'll look at your current approach, discuss any concerns or challenges and work through the foundations of caring for your child's hair.
We'll cover their individual hair needs, cleansing, conditioning, detangling, product choice and the reasoning behind the recommendations I make.

PERSONALISED GUIDANCE, FACE-TO-FACE.
An in-salon consultation for parents, guardians and caregivers who want to better understand their child's hair.
We'll assess your child's hair and scalp, look at what you're currently doing at home and discuss any concerns or challenges you're experiencing.
We'll cover their individual hair needs, cleansing, conditioning, detangling, product choice and styling, along with the reasoning behind the recommendations I make.
I'll explain what I'm seeing and why, so you leave understanding what your child's hair needs and how to care for it at home.

THE CHILDREN'S CURL MAKEOVER
WATCH, LEARN AND UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M DOING AS I CARE FOR YOUR CHILD'S HAIR.
Your child's hair is cleansed, conditioned, carefully detangled, cut where required and styled.
I'll explain what I'm doing, why I'm doing it and how it applies to your child's hair.
This is a good option if you'd like me to do the practical work while you observe, ask questions and learn.

THE CHILDREN'S CURL MAKEOVER + HANDS-ON STYLING TUTORIAL
LEARN BY DOING HAIR TOGETHER.
This appointment includes the Curl Makeover with additional time for practical, hands-on learning.
Rather than only watching, you'll have the opportunity to practise the techniques yourself with my guidance.
We'll work through cleansing, conditioning, detangling and styling so you can understand not only what to do, but how it should feel when you're doing it at home.
Where appropriate, older children can also take part, beginning to develop the skills and understanding to care for their own hair.

YOUR HAIR ISN'T DIFFICULT... YOU WERE NEVER TAUGHT HOW TO UNDERSTAND IT.
LEARNING TOGETHER
HOW WE APPROACH THE APPOINTMENT WILL DEPEND ON YOUR CHILD'S AGE.
With younger children, there's time to settle in, get to know me and take breaks when needed. There's no expectation for a young child to sit perfectly throughout their appointment. I want having their hair done to feel comfortable and positive, rather than something they learn to dread.
As children get older, they can become more involved. They can begin asking questions, understanding what their hair needs and learning some of the practical skills for themselves.
For pre-teens, the appointment can become something you learn together, gradually giving them more confidence and responsibility for their own hair.
The understanding you develop now can become the foundation they build on as they learn to care for their own hair.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
CHILDREN'S CURL CARE APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN AGED 3–12 YEARS.
Hair can be styled to a curly finish or gently blow-dried, depending on the appointment and your child's needs, as I don't offer braiding or protective styling services.
Appointments allow time for younger children to settle in and take breaks when needed.
If your child has allergies, medical conditions or scalp concerns that may affect their appointment, please let me know in advance.
